Human Beings Are Animated Dust

If you’re here, it’s because you were curious enough to click on that little sticky note on the home page of the Camp Kitsch website.

Surprise! It’s a blog. I don’t really know what the purpose of this blog will be; but I’m sure that will become clearer to all of us over time.

For now, I just wanted to share the origin of that little sticky note. It was written by my father, Charles Howard Haley, Sr. I don’t know when he wrote it. I found it when my sister and I were sorting through some of his papers. (That process should be an entire blog post in itself!)

My dad was an Introverted Thinker trapped in an extrovert’s body. I suppose this must be typical of pastors. Dad loved thinking and learning. He loved thinking about learning, and learning about thinking; but he also loved connecting with people and sharing his faith. Whether a person was religious, spiritual, agnostic, or atheist, the complete awe in Dad’s countenance when he talked about the constant and unconditional love of a being powerful enough to create entire universes was contagious.

That wonder at the dichotomy of God’s infinite power and His infinite love for every single atom of His Creation is what I see when I read that little sticky note from my dad.
